It's in the old Costco building on Grandview just off Boundary. The picture doesn't show the madness. There was a lineup to get into the parking lot and it was chaos inside too.
My dad dropped me and my mom off and we went in. After about five or ten minutes I called my dad and he was still trying to find a spot so we just went out and left.
It was like when the first Denny's opened in Kamloops near the hospital.
Craziness it was. It's the first one in Vancouver itself. They were denied by city council for years, but got in via a "backdoor" because there was already a building zoned for such a store.
For years city council denied them because they thought it would kill mom and pop stores. While I'm not a big fan of their labour practices, they're really not much different from any other large retailer. All large stores sell items made in "sweat-shop" factories. Walmart gets picked on because they're so big, and American.
